Fools
A light coating of white powder coated the table… and a blond-haired girl and a pink haired stared at each other, pupils dilated.
They were no longer on Earth. Their arms slowly reached out- and their lips met. To them, everything was perfect. They didn't notice the suspicious musky scent of Natsu's apartment, the dirty sweaty clothes streamed across the floor, and the drugs littered in every corner of the small apartment.
No, instead, they spent another night in a dream-like state, senses heightened and feeling otherworldly.
The next morning, Lucy picked up her clothes and untangled herself from Natsu's arms. She had to get going, classes were starting soon. She couldn't be late…
Again.
The two lived through their day apart, not communicating even once. They were not friends, they were not partners, and they were most definitely not lovers.
They shouldn't even know each other.
They reside on different areas of campus.
They have different friend groups.
A popular girl, and a quiet guy.
But during the night, they were no longer themselves. They were beasts. They were monsters. They could conquer the world if they chose.
They could do anything.
Invincible.
And so the cycle repeated.
Again and
Again and
Again.
The two soon graduated. Not a word was spoken between them. There was no meeting between the two families. Not even an eye glance.
In fact, it was almost like they didn't know each other.
And they didn't.
They only knew each other when they were under the influence of it.
It was strong.
It made them feel good.
It brought two strangers together.
It was amazing.
It would never leave.
Never
Natsu became a successful businessman and CEO.
Lucy married rich and lived in a mansion with a white picket fence and a perfectly manicured green lawn.
After graduation, they never saw each other again.
And that, is the fate of life.
