A/N: I wrote this before the last season finale, hence the mention of Reynolds. And hence the light fluffiness of it all... This season is bringing on more angsty writing, less fluff crap.
Today. Today's the day. I'll walk in and just do it. There are only so many outcomes and the not knowing is killing me. Yes, today's the day.
As Gillian walked in the building, high heels clicking, she made a quick stop at her office to drop off her things and then swiftly continued to Cal's office. Peaking her head in, she saw that Ria and Cal were heading toward the door.
"Video to look at. Come on then," he called over his shoulder as they walked past.
"Okay. I'll be there in a minute." Gillian looked at the floor for a moment gathering her thoughts, and then followed them to the lab.

It's lunch time already! The day's gotten away from me. Now could work.
As she looked up from her desk she saw Cal hurriedly exiting the building.
Quickly getting up and seeing he was already gone, she headed for the receptionist and asked, "Heidi, do you know where Dr. Lightman was headed?"
"I think he said he was picking something up from Agent Reynolds. He'll be back in a half hour," Heidi responded.
"Ok. Thank you," she responded with a half smile and went back to her office.
The day isn't over yet...

Gillian sat at her desk for the next half hour waiting for Cal to return. She called him into his office as soon as she saw him enter.
"Yeah, love?"
"I just-"
::ring, ring...ring, ring...::
Letting out an irritated sigh, Gillian starred at her phone. Cal simply looked at her while she examined the ringing device.
"You gonna get that?"
"Oh, yes. I'll just be a minute," she responded raising her hand to indicate for him to stay put.
As she was nearing the end of her conversation, Loker approached her door and began talking to Cal. Just as she was about to hang up, Cal gave her a nod coupled with several hand gestures communicating that he had something to do. Gillian gave him a small smile and a nod, and off he went again.

6:30pm... Another wasted day, another wasted chance. I guess there's always tomorrow...
"Foster! What'er you still doin' here?" Cal called from the hall as he walked toward her door.
"I could ask you the same thing! Just finishing a few things. I'm almost done," she stated in a voice laced with tiredness.
"Alright. Well, don't stay too late." As he started to walk away, he remembered their half-conversation earlier in the day. "Oiy - you needed to talk to me about somethin' earlier?"
Shaking her head and feeling unconvinced this was actually the day, she said, "Oh that... No, that's alright. We can talk about it tomorrow."
"Tomorrow never gets here, love." Cal raised his eyebrows at her, gave her a small smile, and headed for the door.
Gillian allowed her gaze to fall to her desk. She studied the grain of the wood for a moment and considered running after him.
Tomorrow. Tomorrow's the day...
El fin.
