Once upon a time, there was a powerful magician – so powerful that many feared him, and all desired his power.
In the end, he grew tired of life, for it no longer delighted him. So he cast his last spells and bade his creatures to sleep. In one half of his soul, he kept the powers and memories, though he himself ceased to exist.
As years passed on, the reincarnated soul waited patiently to fulfill his last wish. Finally, the wait was over, and he was no longer burdened.
"I am Hiiragizawa Eriol," he said, "and I am finally free."
