Okay, here's the deal. I read some spoilers about Damon dating some reporter woman called Andy Starr and about Stefan and Elena going on vacation. So I added these two things to my frustration about Damon having another "girlfriend" who isn't Elena and here you go. It'll be complete spoof of a frustrated Delena shipper for the most but it will be fun, too. Enjoy!

Stefan and Elena were on their way to the cabin Stefan had rented for them. They would spend the whole weekend there. Stefan opined that Elena needed a timeout from all the emotional stress.

Ironically, the word timeout was all it took for Elena's thoughts to drift to Damon.

That idiot! That thought kept on flashing through her mind. A few hours before they had set off she had had an outburst on him which – to Stefan's mind – only confirmed the urgency of a timeout. It was also weird to him that after months of flat silence his girlfriend approached his brother so aggressively. Even so although she could care less what he was doing…

Stefan glanced at Elena. Her features were stiff. Her lips firmly pressed together in a thin line and he was sure that if she directed that glare to him he would die on the spot. What was the matter with her?

"Still thinking about Damon?" he asked her with a heavy sigh.

Elena was about to answer "No!" but her angry tone would have given her away anyway so she went with the truth.

"Yes!" she burst out.

Stefan bit back a groan. He had actually been looking forward to spending some time alone with Elena but if she was going to bitch about Damon all the time… He shook his head.

"What did he do that you're suddenly so mad at him?"

"I don't know! It's just I thought after what we – he's been through he would come to reason somehow." After what we've been through was what she had actually wanted to say but she managed to rephrase the sentence just in time. She knew Stefan was irritated about Damon being on her mind as it was.

"Yeah, well, Damon has his own way to deal with loss," Stefan commented drily.

"Yes, but picking up the next best slut from the grill isn't gonna help him any.!"

"Careful, Elena, one might mistake your attitude for jealousy."

His tone was light and he had meant it jokingly but of course his statement held so much truth… and concern.

"Don't worry, I'm not," she replied. "I don't like being the rebound girl."

Stefan swallowed hard. Now they had approached a very delicate subject and he was hoping she would drop it soon. And to his relief she did. She was still hung up on Damon to think about the doppelganger triangle. However she had also lost any interest in a conversation, too and preferred to stare grumpily out of the window. Stefan sighed and turned on the radio.

Hope you liked the first chapter. This fanfiction will be a multi-chapter. The next will feature Damon/Elena but I won't tell you in which way ;)
