I know all us GSR fans need cheering up, so thought I'd write a teeny bit of fluff for my own benefit and for anyone else who reads. It may take your mind off what just happened..even if its only for 5 mins :) enjoy.

Grissom was parking his car on the driveway of his townhouse, as he pulled alongside Sara's car he smiled seeing the childs carseat inside. He knew he was about to walk into a mad house as Sara struggled to get herself ready for work aswell as supervise an inquisitive two year old. Their son. She would be relieved to hand over duty to Gil so she could be on time for the first time this week.

"Good morning." Grissom announced as he entered a suprisingly quiet house. He closed the door behind him and all of a sudden a tiny, pajama clad figure popped around the corner.

"Daddy!" Charlie squealed before running away into the kitchen. "Mommy. Daddy here!" He pointed just as Grissom emerged in the doorway.

"Ok Charlie. Are you going to try and eat some of your breakfast now?" She asked sitting him down before making her way over to Grissom for a good morning kiss and cuddle. "You're going to have fun with him today." She laughed.

"A handful just like his Mom, huh?" He laughed pinching her ass. She playfully smacked his arm.

"Im going to go and get dressed, try and get him to eat something rather than mashing it into the table." She walked away keeping hold of Grissom's hand until the distance broke them apart.

"Hey Sport." Grissom said sitting opposite his son at the table.

"Hi Daddy." Charlie looked up from rubbing his piece of toast into the table.

"Are you going to eat that - or just redecorate the kitchen with it?" Grissom asked with raised eyebrows.

"Yea." Charlie replied, not really knowing the question.

"How about Daddy makes you pancakes, huh?" Grissom stood up, already knowing the answer.

"Yea, Yea, Yea! Pancakes, Pancakes, Pancakes!" Charlie started marching around the kitchen.

"Shhh..Dont tell Mommy." He knew Sara didnt like him having any more sugar than necessary. But she knew Grissom was a sucker for giving Charlie what he wanted.

As he began serving Charlie pancakes, Sara came downstairs and through to the kitchen. She saw what Charlie was tucking into.

"Gil! The sugar content.." She whined.

"He's eating isnt he?" Gil patted his sons curly hair down. She sighed.

"You're the one who will have to deal with the hyperactivity later!" She laughed. "I'll see you in a few hours." She kissed Charlie on the head and gave Grissom a long, wet kiss before turning to leave for work.

Since she had gone back to work, after having Charlie, she had only worked half days so she could get back and Grissom could get some rest before he had to go back to work. Grissom was always assuring her that if she wanted to quit then he would move to days and they could spend more time as a family but he knew she still liked her work. But she found her family more important and wanted the 3 of them to spend more time together. The time she was at home Charlie was in bed and she rarely saw them both awake, at the same time apart from in the morning as Grissom got in from work.

As Sara turned round to say a final goodbye for the morning, Charlie ran and wrapped his little arms around her legs. "Woov you, Mommy." She picked him up and he wrapped his arms around her neck.

"I love you too, baby." Grissom soon followed from the kitchen, wondering where Charlie had shot off too while he had his back turned. "Im gonna quit today." She told him, still holding her baby. He nodded. He knew she'd been thinking it over for a while. She kissed Charlie one more time and handed him to Grissom and kissing him too. Then she left for her last day at work.
