Forget Me Not
Summary: Pre-Eclipse Moment "I won't ever be able to forget you or this moment, for forever, you know."
Disclaimer: I do not own the Twilight; Stephenine Meyer does. I merely play.
Notes: This is actually a scene in my own manuscript (which has taken over my freaking life) that I adapted for A cute BE moment. Also, in pure anticipation of book 4. Expect a few things like this today. And there are blue forget-me-not's according to my hour search online yesterday.
Grasping the doorknob to my bedroom, I argued with Alice on the phone. "You have got to be kidding me, it's not like I don't like shopping. I just don't like shopping with you. And anyways, I'm grounded, remember?"
A reluctant sigh that was tinged with something else was the only response I got through the phone as I threw my bedroom door open. Taking in the sight before me, I gaped. This was NOT what I had left my room like this morning.
"Alice," I faintly heard myself say. "I'll call you back in a minute. I have to take care of something real quick."
"I know," she replied so cheerfully that I could practically see the grin on her face through the phone. "Remember he's hunting right now!" she added as we hung up.
Before me, lay a sea of blue, not from glittering water or an endless sky, but from a man-made sea of flowers. They covered everything I owned, from the top of my bookcase to the bottom of my carpet, everything is covered in them. Smiling, I knew who did this, and he doesn't have to leave a single word. I bent down and pick up a single flower from the millions in my room. It's a gorgeous forget-me-not in its true blue shade.
In wonder, I stare at the tiny flowers that must have been extravagantly expensive to cover so much room. He remembered that brief comment I made about my favorite flower and was not only caring enough to buy them, but romantic enough to drape them across every single surface in my room. I giggled heartily. I had to have the most sensitive boyfriend in the entire world.
My cell rang, and I didn't need to even glance at the screen to check who it was. "Did you know that breaking and entering is illegal in all 50 states?" I quipped into the phone.
A low chuckle rumbled through the device, "It's not called breaking and entering when you told me where the spare key was."
"Oh?" I hummed, leaning against a wall. "But what about coming into my room and scattering flowers everywhere without my knowledge without even a note?"
His tone was inquisitive the moment he replied and tinged with a slight insecurity. "Do you like it?"
Pausing, I didn't know how to put my feelings into words. It was amazing, beautiful, and insightful. Too much for mere words. "I love it," I breathed.
"Good."
I smiled into the phone's receiver, knowing he would be able to decipher my expression through my inflections. "I won't ever be able to forget you or this moment, for forever you know."
"I know," he murmured.
"Good," I replied before continuing. "You better stop reading romance novels to get ideas to make me fall for you."
His laughter floated through the line and my response was simply a larger grin.
Bah, notice no names used expect for Alice. Review my pretties?
