How the Triforce got smashed in the first place
The whole reason the goddesses had the land of Hyrule flooded
Back when Hyrule was above sea level, and the people were prying to the goddesses about saving them, somebody had a bright idea of what to do with the last piece of Triforce.
"Hey, let's smash it with a hammer!"
They proceeded to smash the remaining piece of the Triforce with the skull hammer.
The goddesses watched this and said: "Hey, they're smashing the Triforce with a hammer!" "Let's flood 'em out!"
There fore, the goddesses flooded the land of Hyrule. Years later, when Link was looking for the eight pieces, he thought to himself: "what did they do? Smash it with a hammer?"
