It was all a misunderstanding. Well, at least that was what everyone said. After all one would have to search long and hard to find a couple more contradictory than the one sitting in the kitchen relaxing from a long day babysitting their nieces and nephews. Who was this couple one might ask? Why Hermione and Fred Granger of course. From the outside, they seem like they could not possibly work, and yet they do. Their friends and family said they completely misunderstand what the other wants, means, or needs. But the truth was they completely understood each other.

Hermione understood Fred's fear of small places, and how he couldn't stand next to walls. She just made sure the house had lots of open space and as few walls as possible.

Fred understood Hermione's panic attacks at the sight of knives, and how she could never let someone sit on her. He found some ways of making food where knives were not necessary and always caught the children before they could dog pile her.

Hermione understood Fred's constant need to keep up to date on what George was doing, even when George was halfway across the world opening a new branch of WWW. She simply corresponded with Angelina and Molly as much as she could – not to mention the few illegal spells she might or might not have cast on George to track his health and location.

Fred understood what Hermione meant when she said she could never become Hermione Weasley. He just smiled and said he would be proud to become Fred Granger.

So when their friends and family talk about how they are not meant for each other and how it was all a misunderstanding – although they have been together for almost five years – they simply smile and look at each other.

After all, it only mattered that they understood.
