Hermione had always known, in some part of her, that she was meant to be a Weasley. Fate had, up till now, seen fit to thwart her from achieving that destiny though. She had dated Ron for a while but no matter how much she loved him, as a friend and a brother not a lover, he was a bit of an idiot. His gift for strategy was the only intellectual gift he possessed and he was much to obsessed with quidditch career to truly use that gift. Hermione had quickly grown tired of talking to herself about intellectual things and had heaved a sigh of relief when Ron informed her that he was dumping her for Lavender Brown. Their friendship had not suffered from their brief romantic interlude and was as strong today as it had ever been.

Next she had dated the fun loving prankster known as George Weasley. They had been an incredibly happy if somewhat odd couple. The Weasley twins hid well the intelligence that allowed them to develop their products but it was there, granting Hermione the intellectual satisfaction her relationship with Ron had lacked. George's fun loving personality had also balanced out Hermione's uber serious self and he had eventually succeeded in getting her to relax. That relationship had ended in tragedy with George dead from an explosion. The manufacturing of the prototype of a new product had gone wrong and George had died saving two employees caught in the building. The discovery of the engagement ring in the pocket of his robes somehow made his already tragic death even worse.

His death had hit Hermione hard and it took her months to begin to recover. But she never forgot what she learned at Georges's side, the lessons on loosening up and enjoying life. Eventually she moved on and dated again, a former Ravenclaw named Ernest Hobbes, her second non-Weasley boyfriend, the first having been Viktor Krum. They lasted six months before they realized that they just wouldn't suit. The formerly intellectual only Hermione could no longer have a man interested only in books, the type of man she always thought she wanted. Now she wanted a man with enough intelligence that they would never lack for things to talk about and with interests and passions of his own.

And now she had that man. As she walked down the aisle on Harry's arm she smiled with joy at her Weasley bridegroom. During the invocation of the ancestral spirits, a traditional part of a Wizarding wedding, she was surprised, and yet gratified, to see the spirit of George there to give his blessing on their union even though he was not an ancestor. Her surprise doubled when George and not the Weasley founder spoke to the gathered crowd the ritual words to assure the blessings of the gathered spirits. Once the formal words had been spoken he turned to Hermione and his brother and addressed them personally. No one but Hermione and her groom heard what George said to them, but all present saw his hands rest upon them in benediction before gesturing for the minister to continue.

The groom spoke his vows first, loving shining on his face. Then Hermione, after a brief glance at George, spoke her own vows in a voice full of evident love and joy. "I, Hermione Jane Granger, take thee, Charles Michael Weasley, to be my lawfully wedded husband . . ."

The ceremony ended and the happy couple was introduced as Mr. and Mrs. Charles Weasley. The new Mrs. Weasley grinned with pride at the last name she knew was always meant to be hers.

A.N. So I liked most of it. But I don't like how abruptly it ends. And I couldn't think of how to fix it so you get it the way it is. Hope you liked it.
