Hey this is just a short little scene that I thought should have been on the end of 2x9.

It's my first mentalist fic so go easy on me.

Grace (Bonesmad)

I'd seen that look on her face when she found the diamond (bloody Jane landing me in that mess!) I'd seen the way her eyes lit up. She'd been in awe. But then I'd burst her bubble. I want to make her that happy I do. But like I can't afford a rock like that. Unless I get Jane to gamble for me…. No! I'm a cop. That's wrong. I could sell that watch he got me. Oh no hang on I got ketchup all over it, it's in all the creases. Maybe a smaller one. although she might take it the wrong way. it's way to soon to even think about proposals. I know she wants to tell everyone. Maybe I could do that. Tell them all. But the boss will kill us. Maybe a necklace… oh god here's Jane. I know he knows. He has to…. Oh hang on he's talking.

"I know its not my place…" is it ever? "but did you see the look on Van Pelts face when she saw that diamond. I think she wants you to make a big gesture."

"Me… what… i…." I stuttered at him.

"Cut the crap. You know I know." He grinned and left the room. God that man was annoying. But I have to admit he's good. so I got myself a sandwich and started formulating a plan.

I waited until everyone was in the bullpen, then I dropped the small box on her desk. I sat at my own desk and watched her open it. As her eyebrow rose I turned to Cho.

"You around this weekend man?"

"Yes why."
"I need a hand, my girl friends moving in." I grinned, and glanced over to see her face light up. "I can take that smile as a yes right Grace?" Lisbon choked a little on her coffee, Jane laughed and Cho, for the first time I can remember, actually looked surprised. Grace smiled wider, then nodded.

"Yeah I have lot's of stuff to move."
"You… her… you.." Cho almost stuttered.

"Did I forget to tell you? sorry man." I grinned. I saw a look pass between Jane and the boss.

"I heard nothing." She sighed and walked into her office.
"Nicely done." Jane said then followed her.

"I don't believe you gave in." Cho said to Grace. "But I'll give you a hand." He nodded and walked out.

"Thank you." Grace smiled and kissed my cheek. I grinned and she held up what was in the box. A key hanging on a key-ring with a diamond, three times the one Jane had, on it.

"Don't let Jane hit that one with a fire extinguisher. It most definitely won't hold up."
