Summary/Disclaimer – Really light fluff; I want to say 'OOC'. Written for Littleryokot in a fic-swap. I hope you enjoy! Don't own Axel, Roxas, Castle Oblivion, or Kingdom Hearts in general, as they are the property of Square Enix. I know, we all wish they belonged to us, so we could do whatever we wanted with them, but that's never going to be the case.
Lightning blazed outside Castle Oblivion, bits of its light streaming in through the windows. A loud 'crack' accompanied it.
Axel's eye twitched. He had been trying to get some sleep, but the sound of the thunderstorm had kept him up through most of the night. That seemed to happen every time it rained. He rolled over to find a more comfortable position and maybe, just maybe, drift off to Dreamland.
The creak of his bedroom door opening caught his attention, but he didn't look up. Too frequently somebody invaded his personal area, wanting him to do some menial task; he'd learned to ignore it.
"Axel…?"
This was new. Axel sat up and glanced over to see Roxas standing in the doorframe, clutching the wooden siding. "What happened?" He didn't even pretend to be annoyed like he usually did. Roxas had never once sought him out at night like this – something had to be wrong.
Without asking or being told the blonde walked into his superior's room, closing the door, and stood near the nightstand. "It happened again…"
"It? For the last time, Roxas, stop eating sea-salt ice cream before bed."
"No, not that!" He began rubbing his wrist nervously. "A dream… about that Sora boy… I know it sounds odd, but those dreams unnerve me."
Axel smiled, inwardly debating whether or not to tell his friend about the true reason those visions occurred. He quickly came to a decision. "Don't worry about them… They'll be explained soon enough."
Roxas nodded, but still didn't seem too reassured. "…Do… Do you mind if I stay in here tonight? I don't want to be alone…"
The Inward Wars began again. "Let him", "punt his ass out of here", and a couple thoughts that could land him in prison. Finally, he decided to let him, and moved over to allow him enough room. Once the blonde was next to him, Axel drew him closer, pulling him against his chest.
Burying his nose into the side of the red-head's neck, Roxas smiled. "Good night."
"Good night, Roxas-chan."
"What?"
"Nothing."

The sun woke Axel up the next morning, and he looked down at the golden-haired angel in his arms. He kept watching him for a good hour and a half until Roxas' blue eyes opened. "Mornin'."
"Mmmnn…" Roxas smiled up at him. "Good morning."
Silence reigned for a few minutes before the blonde giggled "Last night was so peaceful… Why haven't we done this sooner?"
"No idea, but that's changing." Axel replied, kissing the other's forehead.
As always, no flames, please!
