Immortality drains my life away
As I walk out through another day.
In death is life; and in life, death,
And secrets shed without a breath.
A world grows stale as the cycle repeats,
Yet is beauty recalled by a mortal's defeats.
'Though some things change, still more is the same -
As others have left, it's a curse to remain.
The heart holds men's sorrow as well as their joy;
Even the wise can still be young boys.
The secret it out there for those who still seek -
It waits for the strong as well as the weak.
To watch the world pass, to age and grow old;
To think on the people who've long since grown cold:
This is the end for those without death;
The mortal's rare gift is his final breath.
AN: Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Gramercy, and God bless you!
