Serena stared mournfully at the boxes of chocolates piled haphazardly on top of one another. 'It's not fair! I know who my soul mate is, and yet-'
"Serena!"
The teenager's arms slid from the plastic bar of the trolley as she whirled around, blonde tendrils whipping across her face as she met her mother's impatient, pointed look.
"Don't just look at them, pick one out for tonight! Honestly Serena, I swear you're becoming more air-headed as you get older!" Irene sighed, turning around to send Sammy off on another task.
As the 14 year old quickly walked over to the pile of Cadbury Favourites, Serena shook her head in a vain attempt to clear her head of the Depressive thoughts her mind was slipping into.
'No! I can't let her win! I'll get him back, just wait, I'll-'
Cardboard impacted with her forehead.
Panicked, the blonde froze.
"It's just chocolate Meatball Head."
Serena snapped out of her thoughts to see a levitating box of aforementioned chocolate directly in front of her. It then lowered enough for her to see the speaker, and her stomach did crazy flip flops as she realized who had spoken to her.
Her mouth went dry, her heartbeat raced and blood rushed through her ears as her mind blanked on a reply.
She was so frozen by mixed emotions, she didn't see the sudden anxiety that the teenager in front of her was experiencing as well.
"Well, umm, here."
Serena blinked, realizing that he had just thrust the box into her arms.
"I changed my mind. You can have it."
Serena watched open mouthed as he quickly walked away. By the time the shock had worn off, a warm fuzzy feeling warmed her inside as she realized the significance of the day.
And the gift.
'I knew it! He really does love me! Just you see Beryl, I won't let you win this time!'
AN: Apologies for my poor writing skills. With time I hope to improve. Reviews are much loved! :D
Although it may not be the 11th in the US, It is here so I will take the time to say that my thoughts are with the loved ones of all those who were affected, directly or indirectly, by the tragedy a mere decade ago. Their evil acts will be punished – and no one will forget what transpired for at least a century, if not more. Such a tragedy will not be forgotten in the mists of time.
