Secrets Revealed
"Oh no" said a worried Remus Lupin. It was five minutes till the second year's curfew at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. As Remus ran across the school from the library to the Gryffindor common room he thought about all Hogwarts had given him in the past year and a half,a home, an education, and three best friends; namely James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew.
'Friends who don't even know me' he thought.
For you see Remus had a secret that only his parents, the headmaster, and a few teachers knew. For Remus Lupin was a werewolf. He had not told his friends nor did he intend to.
'They'll be just like the others' he thought 'find out and run away.'
But this young man was in for the shock of his life. He finally made it to the commons with barely a minute to spare. As it was Christmas break the only occupants of Gryffindor tower were the four friends called the Marauders. Remus scrambled into the entrance just as the clock struck the hour. Relived he sank into a chair by the fire as his three friends came down the dormitory stairs with solemn faces.
"What's wrong?" he asked
James spoke first. "We know."
Remus immediately felt his face pale. "Kn... know what?"
"About you being a werewolf." said Sirius
Remus swore softly as he slid from the chair to the floor with tears threatening to fall.
"I... I'll go pack then."
"Why?", asked Peter as James and Sirius helped Remus to his feet.
"I figure you all don't want to share a room with a werewolf." he answered bitterly.
"Well I don't know about these two, but I don't mind." said James "Sirius, Peter do you mind?"
"No." said Peter
"Wouldn't have it any other way." said Sirius as Remus burst into happy sobs at their words.
"In fact," said James "I think we can find a way to help you."
"H... how?" said a shaking Remus
"We don't know yet, but we'll find a way." said Sirius as all four teary eyed boys made their way up to the second year dorm ideas forming in their minds.
