A/N: Buffy/Angel. Okay so I'm just trying this story out – plot isn't really built but I thought I'd upload something to see what people think, I will continue if anyone wants me too.

His hand caught hers with a speed that was quick, fingers clasping tightly as he tried to get a better grip.

She was falling, he was slipping

If he had a heart beat it'd be racing, he didn't.

Although that didn't stop him from gasping as she slipped again.

Hands wet as the rain continued to hit them, continued to make things harder.

She looked scared, her breathing was quick.

He looked just as scared, teeth grinding together as his body dragged a fraction over the ground.

She was hanging; he was hanging on to her.

Liquid drops of water ran down her face, tracing the fright she had.

His hand tightened around hers, the other letting go of the grass as he reached for her other hand.

He wasn't letting her fall.

"Angel!"

"-I've got you, don't worry."

"I'm slipping-"

"I've got you-"

"I can't hold on-"

"Buffy, I've got you!"

"Angel!"

Her hand slipped, it was quick.

His were left grasping air, water dripping from them as his eyes became dark.

She didn't scream – but he did

His voice loud, drowned out only by the heavy rain.

A yell that never seemed to end, how could it?

He'd just watched her fall, watch as she slipped from his grasp.

Mud covered his clothes, water soaked him as he lie there – hands still held out, as if she'd grab hold again, she didn't.

His eyes shut, scream stopping as he merely stayed motionless.

He had to fix this, he had to do something…he couldn't lose her…he wouldn't lose her.

…Standing slowly as though injured he looked over the edge, darkness swirled below.

Clenching his fist he bowed his head, his words echoing in his mind;

"Buffy, I've got you!"

He didn't, he didn't have her and now she was gone.

Turning slowly with that of someone in pain he faced the man who had caused this, if you could call him a man

With hatred in his eyes he spoke, his voice cut up with grief.

"You have a deal, now bring her back!"

The figure before him laughed – harshly and dry

"Go get her."

And with that his hands landed on Angel's shoulders, forceful as he pushed.

The dark haired man let him, allowing the rain and wind to surround him as he fell backwards.

He'd get her…even if it meant they'd never see each other again.

He loved her.

He loved her more than anything.

He'd save her.

He'd save her from hell.
