A/N: Written for the opposite Day Challenge, please review!
Disclaimer: Not Mine
You wake up in the morning, no smile on your face. You've heard of people automatically smiling when they wake up, no matter what's going on. Your body must know that there isn't a reason to smile these days.
You climb out of bed, stretching as much as your weary body will allow. Joints pop and muscles ache from last nights detention but you try not to let it bother you as you get dressed. You don't need another reason to be dragged down to the dungeons, and they'll certainly pounce on you for being late.
You hurry to the Great Hall, trying to be as invisible as possible. Sliding into the Gryffindor table isn't any easier today and you can feel the stares boring onto you from the teacher's table.
You calmly eat your breakfast, slowly slipping pastries and fruit into your bag so they won't notice anything. Then you stand and make your way to the Hospital Wing. The Carrows refuse to let Madame Pomfrey give certain students food while they're in there, so its up to friends to make sure they eat.
After dropping off food to the Creevy brothers, you hoist your bag farther up your shoulder and make your way to class.
They aren't the same anymore. They used to be filled with so much life, but now its the teachers apathetically droning on and on, giving out information and sending you on apathetically.
The hallways are quiet as you make your way to dinner in the Great Hall. You don't want to eat but you force food into your mouth and swallow mechanically to keep the Carrows from getting suspicious. Or, rather, keep their suspicions from rising.
Neville glances breifly at you and you take that as your signal to leave. Rounds aren't going to do themselves.
You sprint to the dungeon under the covers of darkness, praying the footsteps you hear are just in your mind. Stopping at the staircase, you take a minute to breathe and disillusion yourself.
You then descend the stairs, not daring to make any noise, hoping you can get to the kids undetected.
You do and you spell them into silence and invisiblity. Lifting the spells on yourself for a moment you look them in the eye seriously for a moment before saying, "Do as I say. I'm here to help."
They nod and you release them from the chains. You almost want to shrink them, stuff them in your pocket, and carry them to safety.
Once you get inside the Gryffindor common room you lift the spells and take a deep breath. You turn to the first years and offer them a weak, "Be more careful," before going up the girls stairs and going to the sixth year dorms.
The rounding up kids from detention is taking its toll on you but you don't mind. You're Ginny Weasley, protector of students, and its your civic duty to make sure these kids make it through the war okay.
A/N: So Ginny is my least favorite character in the series and this was a serious challenge to write. Hopefully no one noticed tho haha:) now go on, review!
