I once knew a man

A man who lived forever

Though happy he always seemed, with a smile apon his face

The smile could disappear, and go without a trace

His eyes were always heavy, with all he's ever seen

And told many stories about all the places he's been

When happy he was, he always seem to glow

He brightens the room, wherever he may go

Through all his stumbles, he stood straight and tall

As if all his problems meant nothing at all

And every day he'd visit the lake

With a look on his face as though he may break

And every day, the habit wouldn't bend

And when I asked why, he said it was for a friend

He stays there waiting, he said

Waiting for the King

So stay waiting he will,

'Till Death takes him in.
