So hey guys c: I haven't written a story for warriors in a while and I had this plot idea swimming around in my head for a while , so I thought "hey, why not" This story was inspired by You are The Moon by The Hush Sound. Hopefully you enjoy this new story and read on :D
Disclaimer: I don't own the warriors nor do I own the song I mentioned in the authors note above.
Prologue:
"Deep into that darkness peering, long I stood there, wondering, fearing, doubting, dreaming dreams no mortal ever dared to dream before." - Edgar Allan Poe
Snow glistened as the moon shone dully in the sky. Small stars resembling shards of ice graced the night sky, a slight breeze rustling the bare branches of the forestry. Her head was hung low, paws laid softly upon the ground as she stared at the crimson blood staining the pristine white snow. A body laced with wounds lay in front of her, hollow eyes once alive and bright now milky and lifeless. The she-cat stared on at the body, her knees buckling as she looked at her slivery claws caked with red, tears swimming in her wide eyes. She shook more violently now, her legs ached and arms screamed in pain. Her breathe hitched and she took a step back, paws crunching against the snow, she let out a wail as sobs viciously racked through her tiny body.
"Together we stand...we are powerful" an almost inaudible voice whispered into her ear, passing with the wind.
The she-cat screamed once again, her voice pleading "Get away from me!" her claws digging into the blanket of snow, squeezing her eyes shut. She fell to the ground, wailing loudly as the glassy tears blurred her vision.
"What happened...?" A small tom emerged from the darkness of the forestry, his eyes wide as he surveyed the scene. The she-cat stood, shaking once more as she stepped towards him and unsheathing her thin claws.
"Do it, do it for us"
She shook her head, yowling at the night sky. She stepped closer to the tom, the tears still flowing freely down her cheeks "I'm so sorry" she whispered as she lunged towards the innocent tom, tackling him and pinning him to the ground. His eyes were wide, a confused yet alarmed look distinct upon his features.
"Why...?" He pondered allowed.
He watched her battle with herself furiously, the inner turmoil ripping her apart from the inside out. "You can't make me! I can't and I won't!" She screeched like an owl towards, staring at something that was seemingly imaginary. Her intense gaze now focused on him, her eyes burning holes through his skin.
"She can't make me and she won't" She whispered shakily to him, her head nodding up and down as the tears came again. The poor tom attempted to slip out her grasp, but she stopped him swiftly, her claws grazing his throat which drew only the slightest bit of blood.
"You can't leave! I'm capable of..." She trailed of, whispering inaudible things to only herself, as if someone could hear her. She turned back to the tom, watching in horror as his small wound bled softly.
"I hurt you!" She cried allowed "I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry...I never wanted any of this" She back away from him, tail between her legs and her own eyes filled with remorse. She broke out into a run, the tom calling her name over and over again. Her paws thudded against the earth, her breathing short and heavy. She never did stop running, from what had happened...they all ask "Why?" the answer is much too complicated, the truth is that the innocence was gone. Reality had set in, the reality of our cruel world and what our fate was.
The day she realized her fate was the day she'd never forget.
