Crushed Hopes

A/N: I know, I know, I should be doing Possession of Flame and Wandering Flame and I have yet ANOTHER story, but no worries since this is just a little one-shot!
The title comes from the fact that J.K. Rowling has crushed my hopes about Draco and Hermione shippers, and I AM one of them, ever being rewarded for our efforts… Yeah, uh, before I ruin your lives any more, don't read this unless you have finished the seventh book.
And whatever you do, don't go off and read the Epilogur first… I did, and now my life is ruined, and my hopes are crushed. I wanna cry! I CAN'T BELIEVE she REALLY ended up putting Hermione with Ron in the end! NOOOOOOOO! It's positively HORRIFYING! I am NEVER reading the Epilogue again or I WILL cry, waaaaaaaaaaaaah!
Okay, so this is supposed to symbolize that throughout the seventh HP book that Hermione and Draco had some sort of relationship and when they saw each other married to someone else, after everyone else left, they had the conversation that takes place in thi story…
I don't own Harry Potter, cuz if I did, Draco and Hermione would be together, NOT Hermione and Ron… barf…
By the way, at the time I wrote this while sitting on my bed depressed… I hadn't read any of the story yet, so if anything is wrong, that's why, cuz I am too lazy to go back and make everything accurate.

After sending the kids off on the train to Hogwarts and seeing him again, Hermione felt drained. She knew she loved Ron, and she didn't have any regrets about marrying him at all…
But she also knew that there would always be a special place in her heart for her forbidden lover…
Hermione had told Ron to go home and that she would be there later. What she didn't expect, however, was for said forbidden lover to walk right up to her, a real genuine smile on his face.
"Hey," He muttered, leaning against the wall in front of her. Hermione looked away before looking back at him.
"Hi…" Hermione whispered so quietly that even he could barely hear her.
"Look, I just want you to know that… that even though I know we've both gone our separate ways… I got married, you got married… I still… still love you and, I really hope to see you around sometime," He told her, seeming to have trouble finding the right words.
A single tear rolled down Hermione's cheek as she stared at him, trying with all her might to hold back the rest of her tears. She just shook her head.
"I-I can't. If I s-see you… I think… I think I m-m-might want to l-leave Ron for you because I st… I still love you too and-" She began, but was cut off by a warm hug from him.
"It's okay… either way, I'm glad we had this chance to say goodbye… who knows, maybe our kids could even end up being friends?" He whipered in Hermione's ear.
Hermione flung her arms around his neck, letting herself cry freely into his shirt. She knew it never would have worked out between them.
She pulled away and kissed his cheek, one last time before he walked away from her, one last time. He stopped and smiled back at her for a moment, before continuing his trek back to his home.
"I love you Draco…"

A/N: Yup, there's my attempt at a one-shot for ya! Did it suck? Did you love it? I am most definitely not continuing it, so don't even ask. Notice my "one last time"s I had in there? That means no continuation for this baby! Now… back to Wandering Flame… gah…
