The One That Could Have Been
Prologue
There hadn't been any sphere waves for weeks and Yuna, Rikku and Paine were sat at the bar on the Celsius bored out of their minds. "I'm sooo bored…" Rikku moaned. "Me too." Yuna said before yawning.
They sat in silence for a few minutes until Rikku burst out with, "Let's play a game!"
"What game?" Yuna asked.
"Umm… I don't think it has a name."
"How do you play?"
"Okay, everyone picks one thing that's happened in their life and thinks about what it would be like if it'd never happened."
"How fun." Paine said sarcastically.
"Well it's better than sitting here in silence doing nothing. And some of them can be pretty funny."
The girls sat in silence for another few minutes, thinking, before Yuna said, "My life would be really different if I had defeated Sin the traditional way. By using the Final Summoning."
"Well, yeah. You'd be dead." Rikku said bluntly. "I wonder what my life would be like if Gippal had never joined the Crimson Squad… What about you Paine?" Paine was silent. "I have one for Paine!" giggled Yuna, "What if she wasn't Goth?". Rikku started laughing with her.
"Minus ten respect points Yuna."
"How many is that now?" Rikku asked mockingly.
"More than you." Yuna replied.
Suddenly the alarm went off. "Gullwings! Report to the bridge!" Brother's voice echoed.
"Yes!" Rikku exclaimed. They ran to the elevator but all thought, 'I wonder what my life would be like if that had happened?'
