"Tru remembered that day like it had been yesterday. The truth was that it had been yesterday, but she still couldn't accept the fact that she didn't save his life, Harrison's life, the only brother she would ever have…
Tru walked into the morgue, like always, but she didn't know how different that day was going to be. She said hi to Davis as she walked into his office and sat down with him. They started talking about how their day was going. Tru had been happy, that day was not a rewind day and she hoped that it didn't become one. Gardez rolled a stretcher into the autopsy room. Tru looked at the stretcher from a distance and groaned. She walked up to it and uncovered the body. She gasped at the face that was looking at her. Her brother Harrison laid cold in the stretcher, his eyes shut. Tru uncovered his whole body and didn't found any bullet wounds. She kept looking and looking, until Davis stopped her.
"He was killed by a clean blow to the head."
"But with what kind of object?"
"I don't know, it is hard to know, it could have been a bat or an iron tube. If I can make a hypothesis, it was the work of a professional assassin."
"A professional assassin?"
"Yeah, your brother probably had a debt he didn't pay."
Tru looked at her brother and waited for him to ask her for her help.
"Tru, maybe…"
"Don't say it, he's going to ask."
"I'll call your sister and tell her what happened."
Davis walked into his office and left Tru alone with Harrison's body. Tru kneeled down beside the stretcher and looked at Harrison.
"Please, wake up, ask for my help."
She waited for Harrison's lips to move. She waited the whole night and didn't move until Davis covered Harrison's body.
"Tru, I'm sorry."
"I guess it really was his time." She got up and kissed his brother's head. "Goodbye Harrison."
Tru got up and walked out into the cold night, feeling that something was taken from her without permission, but it was something that she couldn't get back. She would never get her brother back, never."
