Harry Potter | What About Now?
Chapter One
Ever since I met him, my life wasn't the same. I met him that day in the Great Hall. His name was Cedric Diggory. Who I had fallen head over heels for. I know this may just seem like one of those stupid, pointless, love stories, but this one is different. To me this love story was an important one.
First Year at Hogwarts
I was new at Hogwarts, which meant--I was lost. The school was huge, when I found out that I was a wizard, I was around ten. Now I'm fifteen and my life has changed. Walking down the stares I groaned. My first class was supposed to be Flying. I was starting to think that I'd be late on my first day. I panicked as the halls where starting to empty and people where heading to their first class of the day. I continued running down the hall until I bumped into someone.
"Ah! I'm so sorry." I managed watching all of my books fall out of my arms.
There was a chuckle, and I could tell it was from a male, "It's fine." he replied helping me pick up my books, "I see you're new here." I blinked and looked up at him, I blushed nervously,
"U-Um yes. I am. Thank you," I spoke as he handed me my books.
"My pleasure. The name's Cedric Diggory. What's yours?" he asked looking at me with his sharp eyes.
"My name? Oh it's - it's Brittany Hawthorne." I stammered already making a fool of myself.
"It's nice to meet you Brittany. What's your first class? Maybe I can show you there."
I looked down at a piece of paper, "Flying." I answered after a couple seconds passed. I looked up and saw a smile on Cedric's face. What was he so happy about?
"Well Brittany Hawthorne, it looks like you and I have the first class together. I'm in Flying as well."
That didn't come much to my surprise, a guy like him would probably be the first to enter in the Quidditch Cup. I gave him a small smile. It's nice to know at least one person if you're new. That means you don't feel so alone.
"Th-That's good." I spoke acting flustered again.
Cedric motioned for me to follow him, "Common. We don't want to get in trouble on the first day now. Do we?" he asked as I nodded and followed him from behind.
We eventually came to our first class just in time seconds before the bell rang, the teacher-- Mrs. McGonagall -- told us to get by our brooms. And so this was the perfect way to start out my first day at Hogwarts.
