It's a hard thing for a man to know when he's to meet his end. Especially since he had been getting the visions for sometime now.
He vaguely remembered when they first started, he recalled waking up with a fevered sweat in the middle of the night and unintentional hollers so loud that the guards flooded the room due to worry for their King.
But in what time he knew he had left, he understood that these were no ordinary nightmares.
These maddening visions held a dire purpose and in time he came to decipher the horror behind the visions of flaming demons and blood red skies. They were a warning of great terror and anguish to come upon not only his people but other parts of the land as well.
Sadly, he knew even with his bloodline that no one would take seriously the nightmares of an aging King. So, with a heavy heart at the thought of what was to come, he made arrangements with those that were more than trustworthy to him over the course of his life.
There was however, one thing to give him hope in his final days. In the terror and bleakness of the visions there was a light of hope. A strangers face. No one special or out of the ordinary. Just one person who he could see would hopefully save his land and beloved people. A person who could possibly carry on the task he knew he could not.
And it was now as he felt his final heartbeats as he lay dying on the underground passage floor, he could very faintly hear the clash of swords and his knights voices, but lastly he hoped that the stranger he had met from his visions earlier would carry on his duty and protect the land.
It was with these thoughts that he closed his eyes for the final time.

Wow, this came out way better than I expected.-Happy Dance-
Character Death still makes me sad, unless it's a character I hate.
But I like the King and find him to be an interesting character.
