Being stuck in a seventeen year old girl's body means you will rack up a few ex-boyfriends in your life time. Now not all of them are going to have treated you right, and some will be worse than others. There is one ex-boyfriend though that will always stick with Marceline, most likely because he treated her the worst of all of them.
His name was Mark. He caught Marceline's eye the second she saw him, probably because he was pulling a harmless but still funny prank on some people. Soon after they started dating. That is when things started to get bad.
Mark didn't like that fact that Marceline was a queen, he wanted to be more powerful than her so he put her down as often as possible to make himself feel better. The hurtful words she could take, but soon Mark became violent and full out abusive.
Sadly after being in this relationship for four months Marceline thought she could get out of it.
Big Mistake.
Mark snapped. And Marceline Snapped Back.
That night Marceline lost her virginity unwillingly to someone who caused her a lot of pain, physically, emotionally, and sexually. But that very same night Mark was murdered.
No one ever found his body and no one questioned Marceline, they saw what he did but they were to afraid to speak up. That's why when Marceline met Finn, she though:
'Maybe there is someone to speak up now'
So she makes fun of his hero ways, but deep inside she respected him because she knew he would protect others from sharing her fate.
And maybe just maybe she could move on from Mark and find someone who truly cares for her.
