It's the end of summer. But who cares? Here's to a fantastic new year at NYU! Rose finally feels like she has it all. Great sisters, great friends, and honestly the only thing she loves more than her major is Joel. Yeah, they'd gotten pretty serious over the summer, to no one's surprise. Rose laughs now about how blind she had been; why was she the last person to realize that they're "OTP"? That's what fans would call them if they starred in their own tv show. She's at that point where her sisters make fun of her when they catch her looking through Anne's bridal magazines just for fun.
"Hi. Rose Sorelli signing in Marjee Sorelli." Rose hands her student ID to the security guard. He barely looks at it before lifelessly instructing her on how to sign people into the dorms. She thanks him even though she already knew how, she'd signed her sisters into the other dorm building at least a thousand times. Whatever. This was a new building, where her new triple is. She has to make friends with the new security guards so they will "look the other way" if she ever walks in drunk or wants to sneak her boyfriend in late at night.
After they step away towards the elevator Marjee looks back and says "you know, I think I read somewhere that half the security guards here come straight out of prison."
Rose smiles. "What kind of reliable source would print that?"
"I think it was the NYU newspaper." she laughs.
"Whaaaat?"
"Seriously. People got tired of their crap getting stolen so they took a stand. Admirable, really."
Heh. "Riiiiight." Rose keeps pushing the 'up' elevator button. "Maybe my roommates will go to prison for killing each other."
Rose told her sisters all about her and Flash's new roommate, Caroline. She's the fashionista type. The type that'll buy Sephora make-up instead of dinner. The type of girl Flash is morally opposed to. They've only known each other for a day and a half and drama has already ensued over closet space. Marjee's just coming over for the laughs. She could definitely use some right about now. For once in her life she won't talk about her guy troubles (despite everyone's massive efforts to pry it out of her!) and its obviously been bringing her down.
