Here in memory for Matt Smith. I have appreciated his work and all the time he has dedicated to 'Doctor Who'.

One Last Time, Old Girl

Donna had been traveling with the Doctor for several months and she could now read him like an open book. She also knew that they would never end up where they wanted to end up, making Donna think that the TARDIS was the one who wore the trousers in their relationship.

"So, Doctor, where are we and where were we suppose to be?" Donna asked casually knowing the Doctor wouldn't pick up on the light teasing while he was trying to figure out what happened making everything go wrong.

"We are on Kuolemelaman, but I was aiming for Kaunkuinis." He said this without thought and without looking up from the console, "Kaunkuinis is suppose to be one of the most beautiful planets in this galaxy and it's beauty is glorified by the smaller systems near by."

He finally looked up to meet Donna's eyes. It was another moment before he understood her sarcasm.

"Oi Earth Girl! What have I told you about that?"

"Well, Space Man, you tell me not to, but I don't listen much." Donna answered honestly. He stared at her and she stared right back at him. They did this often just staring at the other, sometimes Donna felt as though he expected her to glow again.

"Right," He said at last, "off we are to see where we are."

"Alright then after me!" Donna stated as she exited the TARDIS.

The planet they were on was barren and rocky, but where there were plants there were the most beautiful greenery imaginable. The flowers contained every hue of the color spectrum and the leaves are the most vibrant shades of green either of them had ever seen. But it wasn't just the plants that were colourful, it was also the rocks. The rocks and boulders were balanced between steel and iron gray bedded in orange-tan sand and was soft to the touch. It was like this as far as the eye could see. The entire landscape just rocks, sand, and plants.

"Doctor? Where is-Well, where is everyone?"

"That, Donna, is an excellent question." He looked around a little longer, "See no one on land, then they must be below!"

The Doctor started off to the closest pile of rocks while pulling out his sonic screwdriver.

"Wait, how do you know there are people here at all?" Donna asked as she sat on a rock, deliberately in the way.

"Because almost every planet has life and those that don't are set up as trading planets, huge trading networks."

"Oh, and you think that one of these rocks is a door?" Donna asked just as the one of the rocks moved revealing a long dark tunnel into the unknown.

That is all for now, but I will add more in case you were wondering where Matt Smith is.
