"There's nothing to eat," my roommate commented for the fifth time this week, and it is only Monday.
"Ron, how many times do I need to tell you that this isn't your mum's house. Food just doesn't magically appear when you are hungry." Silently I add that he's always hungry. "Ginny doesn't stay home all day cooking like your mum does. She just made Chaser for the Holyhead Harpies."
"Hermione always gets take-away when she doesn't have time to cook. Should we do that?"
I almost regret inviting Ron to live with me while we are beginning our Auror careers. "So what do you want? Curry? Sushi?"
His face scrunches up in a way that shows that he is trying to think hard, "I think I want pancakes. You know, the thin ones with lemon and sugar? The Sunday pancakes mum always makes. Oh, they would hit the spot with a big side of bacon."
I freeze. Pancakes? Does he know what time of day it is? Considering it is approaching eight in the evening, "I don't know where to get pancakes at this time of day." This is one of the times I wish Hermione was here with us instead of taking her seventh year at Hogwarts, she would know where to get pancakes.
"Floo call mum. Or 'Mione, she would know where in the Muggle World to get pancakes. Mum would probably make them for me." I see a dreaminess in his eyes as he is already thinking of his mum's cooking. For the fifth time this week. And it's only Monday. "Harry, do you think mum would make me pancakes if I go over?"
"Fine Ron, go over to your mum's house," in my head I add 'again'. This will be the fifth time this week that he goes over to her house for food. I can't deny that she's a good cook, and she always feeds him whatever he wants.
Little does he know that is why our bachelor pad is always out of food.

BONUS:
This is my Grandmother's Crepe recipe which is highly addictive. And highly caloric.
¾ cup all purpose flour
¼ cup granulated sugar
Zest of a medium meyer lemon
2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
1 egg
2 cups milk
Sift flour and sugar together. Add the rest of the ingredients and whisk thoroughly. It should be about the consistency of pea soup (that is straight from Grandma's description).
Butter a pan and pour the thin batter into a nonstick skillet over low medium heat. It should not rise at all. You will need to swirl to cover the pan. Flip when the first side turns darker throughout.
This will make 8-9 9" crepes. No need of anything on top of it, half the time I eat them as fast as I can make them.
