Chapter 1: Introduction.
We all know The Olympic Games that humans compete in. They do all sorts of activities such as canoeing, biking, archery and so forth. But did you know that trains have a similar Olympic Games of their own? No? Well then, let me share with you a little history about "The Railroad Olympics".
The Railroad Olympics is kinda like The Olympic Games, but very different than what humans do. Engines from around the world go head to head against each other in these types of events. They also have teams, all of which contain 4 engines of any type that are good for these following events. Switch engines race against the clock in "Switch Against the Clock", where the engine has to organize a train quickly before the timer runs out. The engine who did it the quickest wins, while the engine who did it the slowest loses. Then there's "The Black Beauty Contest" that was loosely based off of the event Indian Railways have with their own engines. In that contest, engines that are chosen to be in the contest are dressed up in all sorts of decorations and paint jobs that makes them beautiful, where they would be judged to see who has the most beautiful decorations. The one who has the most beautiful decorations wins, and the one who doesn't loses. Then there's "The Strongest Engine Competition" where a strong engine is to pull as many cars as he or she can. They start with one car, then another car gets added, then another and another until they've reached their limit. The strongest engine of them all wins, while the weakest one loses. Finally there's "The Race to the Finish", where the fastest engine, both streamlined and not streamlined, compete against other fast engines to race from the starting line to the finish line at one end of the railroad. These are the main events of "The Railroad Olympics".
This kind of event was invented by the Lucas Brothers in 1883, the same people who founded the Locomotive Preservation Society in 1869. Originally, the Railroad Olympics was just an American thing, but in 1908 it became a worldwide event, just like the Olympic Games. Since then, the Railroad Olympics have attracted thousands and thousands of people who love sports and trains, and many engines have participated in this exciting sports event, both famous and non-famous engines. One of these engines includes the Mallard, who had helped Team UK win 7 Railroad Olympics in a row. The Railroad Olympics took place in cities around the world, such as Beijing, Hong Kong, Chicago, London, Paris, every major city you can think of.
Though this is only for engines, there was this one time a railroad dog had competed against many engines from across the globe. He was much smaller than any of the engines and was not fast enough to go against some of the fastest engines on the planet, but he didn't give up and proved to his family that he can do anything to make his country proud. His name, was Ryan Dalmatian.
Oliver and Company belongs to Walt Disney.
Ryan, Lucas Brothers and the Locomotive Preservation Society belongs to myself.
Please review this. I want to know if I should continue or not.
