She ran, non-athletic legs trying their best to outrun her pursuers. Her tangled, dark hair flailed about, bloodshot eyes closing for a moment as she tried to focus, but to no avail. She could hear the soft pat of many legs hitting the ground quickly, content with the thought of blood. Her blood.
Their stench drew nearer, and she cried out in sure defeat, wishing her life could have lasted longer, not a mere two thousand years. The thought of her brother only made her slow for a moment, but at their sound she sped up again, against the strain of her muscles. Oh, her dear brother! Celebuial. . .
All of the times they had shared. . . Him comforting her whenever she had a bad dream, playing tag, even the times they fought were cherished. But now. . . He would no longer even speak a word to her; that she knew.
She should have taken heed to that dream! The hairy heads peering out of the trees, their many eyes glinting, staring at her, as they charged down. She had awakened before the end, and she thanked Eru at that time, but she did not now.
She heard them in front of her as well, trapping her in the dark. She stopped, trembling, as they all closed in on her, greed shining in their eyes. She took long, labored breaths as she refused to look at them, afraid. She bit her lip, red liquid spurting out as she tasted it, but did not swallow. Blood would not be the last thing she would eat.
She collapsed on the ground with grief, old, dirty dress ripping as roots tugged on the fabric, and she cried out in anguish as she felt a piercing in her back. Black clouds formed over her eyes, and she got lightheaded as the spider's poison kicked in. Before she passed out, however, she whispered something.
"Not oft do the stars speak lightly."
And that was the last of Tathermîr of Mirkwood.

A/N- I felt like writing something where I could use that name because I liked it. ( But then my muse kicked in and. . . TADA! ^^'
