Juliette had just shown him her 'true' self and Nick stared in horror and confusion. The moment she returned to normal, his expression morphed into rage.
"I'm gonna kill her."
She hid a shudder at those words, seeing fully for the first time, the terrifying power Nick possessed. Hell, she didn't even see him anymore, only the Grimm inside him.
For a horrifying moment, Juliette was certain he meant her, but then he went storming past her, toward the front door.
"Nick, where are you going?" She asked, and hated the tremble of fear in her voice.
"Don't know," came the terse reply.
Juliette could only sigh as Nick vanished out the door.
The air around him crackling with power and an intangible sort of electricity, Nick got in his car and drove; his thoughts were a mess and he didn't focus on where he was going to, he just went. Eventually, he found himself parking in front of an old-style mansion house.
A woman answered the door when he rang the bell, and his Grimm screamed Hexenbiest.
Thanks to Adalind, it was a Wesen breed he hated above all others.
The fear most Wesen showed him was evident in her face as she woged. But she returned to normal a few moments later when he just stood there, waiting.
"My apologies," she said grudgingly. "I did not expect a Grimm to show up at my door."
"I didn't expect my girlfriend to turn into a witch," Nick retorted.
The woman smiled and invited him in. "I'm Henrietta; Juliette approached me for assistance."
"So I heard," said Nick, following her deeper into the house. "How did she find you?"
"Sean Renard."
"She went to him first?" He asked, feeling a bit put out. Why hadn't she come to him?
Henrietta nodded. "I imagine it's because he knows both sides, human and Wesen. In a way, I understand how she feels. I nearly threw up when I experienced my first woge. Your girlfriend is a made Hexenbiest; most are born."
Nick frowned. "What's the difference?"
Henrietta stopped and indicated her dining room table, where she'd brewed the potion for Juliette. "Can you see the hole?" Nick nodded. "The depth is an indication of power and by all accounts, Juliette's power is unlimited."
"That makes sense but I get the feeling she doesn't want to be Wesen. Is it permanent or is there a way to undo this?"
"What do you know of the power of Grimm blood?"
"I accidentally used it on Adalind Schade once," said Nick. "It made her human. Would that work for Juliette?"
Henrietta shook her head. "I don't know. Mrs Silverton is the first Hexenbiest of her kind I've met, so I can't say for sure. It may only work on borns, not mades."
"What other option is there?" Nick was beginning to feel desperate.
Henrietta shrugged. "The only other thing I can think of is killing the Hexenbiest who started all this."
Nick, who'd been peering into the hole in the table turned to face her, his body suddenly rigid, tense.
"Adalind." The way he said her name suddenly had Henrietta backing slowly away, wearing a fearful expression.
"I think you should leave," she said.
With the Grimm in his eye, Nick did so, determined to get to Adalind and make her head part company with her body. Normally, he wouldn't give in to the instincts that demanded he revert to the ancient dēcapitāre ways, but with Adalind, he was willing to make an exception. Enough was enough.
His next stop was the police station to visit his captain.
