Tokyo Drifter
A/N: I don't own Tokyo drift obviously. I was inspired after I saw the movie.
Shaun and Dominic had become fast friends after Shaun beat Dominic in the race. Currently the two of them were leaning against their cars talking with some other drivers a few months later.
"Yo Shaun some new racer has arrived wanting to challenge you."
Shaun looked at his friend with a questioning looking. Twinkie just shrugged and looked behind him. Dominic looked up at Twinkie with his eye brow raised. "The driver said they wanted to challenge the Drift King to a match."
"Let's see this driver."
He moved forward towards where the challenger stood leaning against a 97' Ford Mustang. It was white with white wings outlined in black that started on the panel behind the front tire and flowed out a little past the door. Feathers flowed freely behind the wings all the way to the bumper in various shapes and sizes. On the hood was an intricate Celtic cross. The cross was in a band with Celtic knots throughout it. The driver was clothed in black and was wearing a black baseball hat with the logo for the Dayton Dragons.
"What's you're name friend?" he asked with his southern accent showing in his voice.
"They call me Kage Tennotsukai, here in Japan."
"Kage Tennotsukai, shadow angel, huh? What's you're real name?"
"My real name is none of your concern cowboy," the challenger said. "Are we going to race are you just going to play twenty questions all night?"
"Let's do this."
"As you wish Drift King."
He noticed the challenger's voice was laced with a mocking sarcasm. The person easily slid into the drivers' seat of the car. Shaun wondered briefly if this person was sent by Takashi to dethrone him and allow the old DK to come back. Shrugging it off he hopped into his car and rolled up to the starting line ready to show this guy who the real DK was of this town. Shaun's girlfriend walked up and signaled the drivers to start. The race began with Shaun in the lead. Then the challenger pulled ahead with a clean drift against the wall. The DK had to admire the smooth workings of this driver. Coming around the bend that would lead them to the up the spiral up ramp Shaun came out first and everyone cheered like crazy knowing their king would win.
The driver of the Mustang came up seconds later and got out of the car. Shaun approached the driver even though his friends crowded him.
"That was some race," Shaun said with a happy grin.
The person just bowed their head.
"It was," the driver agreed.
"Can I learn your name now, Kage Tennotsukai?"
"Not today Drift King but another day."
The driver got into their car and drove away. Shaun looked at Dominic and the older man shrugged. Neela came up and hugged her boyfriend's arm. She was worried about this new driver.
"Do you think this driver works for Takashi?" Neela asked.
"No, I don't think so," Shaun said.
"How do you know?"
"They weren't upset by the loss. If it was a Takashi driver they'd want to fight," Dominic supplied for him.
"Yeah Dom's right on that one."
"I hope you're right guys," she said softly.
