Tetra: Hi everybody! Just thought I'd do a little one shot on Charlie and Don's thoughts of their mother. Now remember, I don't own Numb3rs or any of its characters! I just wish I had Charlie. Hehehe!
Summary: A short fic about Don and Charlie. A conversation of their mother.

Missing Her
Charlie stared blankly at a robin taking a bath. He was getting annoyed at his brother who was staring at him for about 4 minutes now. Before Charlie could say anything, Don spoke.
"What are you thinking about?"
Charlie continued his stare at the robin as he answered.
"I was just thinking how mom would always talk to the birds, like she could hear what they were saying. It was kinda nice. I miss it."
Don broke his stare at Charlie and looked at a not-so-fascinating magnet on the refrigerator.
"Charlie...I miss everything about her. I'm sure you do too."
Charlie stood and walked to a picture of their mother. It was of her 35th birthday. She was so pretty...and happy. They all were happy. It just didn't seem the same anymore. Charlie wished he could spend one more birthday with her.
"Charlie? Are you okay? You seem very obsessed with mom today. What's up?"
Charlie smiled faintly. "You don't know what day it is today, do you?"
Don looked curiously at him. "Thursday...October 5...2006?"
Charlie chuckled slightly. He knew Don wouldn't remember. "Today is the ten year anniversary of mine and mom's return home. It's also the fifth year she's not here to celebrate it."
Don's brotherly instincts kicked in quick. "Don't worry Charlie. I bet she's having a party in heaven and is watching and waiting for you to have one down here. Come on. I'll buy dinner."
Charlie took one last look at the beautiful picture of his mother before walking away. "Bye mom! Hey, Don! You are paying for everything, right? Don...DON!"
