Thunder rumbling
As if to justify revenge
The sky parting
Lightning bolts of anger
And so much blood
Pooling at my feet
Red rain
Watering the weeds
I thought I'd plucked
Long ago
Smoke billowing
Dust rising
The earth's jaws open
To accept this sacrifice
This snarling dragon
Gaping, heaving, thundering
Who will save me now
If I cannot save myself?
This mirror image monster
With eyes blazing red
My cheek throbs
With each heavy step
He takes
Rhytmatic, pulsating
Drawing me away
For a split second
From the void of insanity
Desiring to slay this demon
That I have created
Dear God
What have I done?
