"Paige and Alex
have become, Palex."
Marco – 5x14 - "I Against I"
Now: On with the fic!
After the kiss: Paige's POV:
"I should have stayed up there with her. I would have been more comfortable, all curled up next to her, breathing her in…" Paige shifted her weight on the couch, she hadn't slept all night thinking about Alex like this. She tried to pull her thoughts away form the black haired beauty, but Paige's every wondering mind kept pulling her back. "What would she have done? Kiss me again? Would I have even minded?" She smirked at the realization that just a few hours ago Alex's lips were on hers. "Had I really kissed her back?" She tried desperately to find a distraction when she looked at the clock. "It's already seven o'clock. I should so start getting ready. But that would require going to my room. That requires looking at my bed, which requires me looking at her. Alex. Beyond friend Alex." She bit her bottom lip mischievously as she walked up the stairs to her room.
When she opened the door she saw a site that took her breath away and made her nervous as all get out. Alex curled up in a ball in her bed. Under her sheets. Lying on her pillows. "I SO should have slept up here." Paige's thoughts stopped its process as her nerves infused the rest of her body. She walked over to the window and opened the curtains.
"Whose the evil genius that made morning so bright" Alex said through her sleepiness. She had her hand covering her eyes, as Paige turned around to get a glance in of the beauty in HER bed yet again.
"Probably the same person who made school after crazy movie premieres" Paige stammered, gathering any excuse not to look at Alex again by fiddling around her room.
"Crazy? Is that the verb you're going to use to explain last night?" Alex said, smirking her devilish grin at Paige.
"Crazy a verb?" Paige thought for a moment. "Adjative" she said to Alex. "Very much an adjative. Crazy can't be the verb for last night, when 'kiss' would be what we did."
REWIND!
After the Kiss: Alex's POV:
"Why did she freak out…I could have sworn she wanted I too." Alex brushed her hair back from her face as she lay down on Paige's bed. "All night, all I could do was keep from kissing her, and dancing with her. Fucking amazing. It felt so right."
"Then why did she freak?" Alex asked herself out loud before rolling over to her side, bunching Paige's sheets up in her hands. "I can't believe I'm in Paige's bed," She thought, inhaling and exhaling the sweet scent that flourished the room. She buried her nose against Paige's pillow, smiling as she brushed her lips over the pillow. "She makes me feel like I actually matter." She caught herself talking to herself again, breathing in the fabric softener aroma of the pillowcase. Alex covers herself up in Paige's sheets, closed her eyes, and drifted off to sleep more comfortably then she had ever in her life.
"Whose the evil genius that made morning so bright" Alex said through her sleepiness. She saw Paige wondering around her room like a crazed animal. "Was it really that bad? Is she going to ignore me for the rest of my life because of this?" Alex caught her thoughts and decided she wouldn't worry about that till Paige told her "go away". She watched Paige rummage through her closet, then back over to her dresser, and around again. "Crazy? Is that the verb you're going to explain last night?"
"Adjative"
Alex tried making a joke of the night, but saw Paige wasn't having it.
"I can't deal with you." Was the last thing out of Paige's mouth before Alex got up. "I'll just go and rub some toothpaste on my teeth, then you can walk 20 steps ahead of me all the way to school." And with that she left.
