Even drunk Kio was weird.
Up to that nice warm buzz, that point where you knew one more and you wouldn't remember a thing in the morning, you couldn't tell if Kio was on his tenth beer or his first.
Of course that was usually when Kio decided they needed something stronger. And last night he was more than happy to oblige.
He needed Kio good and hammered.
There was something he wanted to ask.
And that was the only way to get a serious answer out of Kio.
Or at least he thought so.
That he'd said a song could explain it better than he could made some sense.
And as much as he hated to admit it, it was exactly what he wanted to know.
Only his Ritsuka made him feel that way. All the joy, the happiness he's ever felt was because of Ritsuka, all for Ritsuka.
The comparison made him smile. Daffodils. One of the first Spring flowers. A touch of sun, a bit of hope after all the cold and darkness.
Complimentary to his eyes.
How very precious sweet and rare.
That was why he fought so hard for his Ritsuka. Not Seimei's orders or his absurd plan. Not even because he belongs to Ritsuka now, HIS Fighter Unit.
Ritsuka is the most important one in the world. Nothing compares to him.
He would risk everything for him.
He would gladly die for him.
If he lost him, he truly would die.
He would follow Ritsuka into the next world. He knows he's not going to Heaven, but he's sure Ritsuka'd argue him in.
He knows he's not perfect, the world is cruel and cold but he's not out to change it. Ritsuka is his world now, all he'll ever need. He knows he doesn't deserve someone like Ritsuka…
But from the first moment he'd seen him something happened in his chest he couldn't explain. It started again at the school gate. He'd assumed it was love; it was how he was told to feel towards him…
He never thought it would grow, feel like this…
If only it wasn't butterflies.

AN: and the song – "Love Is Like A Butterfly" by Dolly Parton. Everytime I hear it it reminds me of Soubi.
