It was Valentines Day and it also happened to the annual world meeting. Both of which, Russia despised with a red hot passion. He didn't always used to hate valentines day., in fact he used to love it. Though the loneness of being alone sine 1734 can change someone's opinion a bit. As much as he wanted to, he knew he couldn't miss the meeting today. Sighing deeply he got out of bed and headed towards the meeting building a few blocks down form his hotel. To be honest, he liked when the meetings were away from his home. He didn't have anyone to go back home to anyways and he always loved the chance to explore a new, foreign place.

He forced a smile as he walked down the street. Looking down at his feet as he tried to avoid all the couples around him, showing their affection for each other. He forced himself to block it out, but in doing so he was surprised to find he was already in front of the building. breathing a sigh of relief, he climbed the stairs and into the building. When he entered he was surprised to see no one in the lobby. He guessed the meeting had already started and he had missed the memo. Shaking his head, he walked down the hallway till he got to the meeting room door. He could hear talking and laughing coming form within the room. He became curious to what the countries were doing inside, though he knew he would be excluded from it as usual. Opening the door, Russia was not surprised to see all the countries taking within their own groups. Now he really wished he had missed the meeting today, he had no one to talk to. True, he could make people be his friends but that never made him happy. Nervously, Russia looked around the room for a face that he could talk to. He spotted the Baltics all standing together as usual, but they looked so happy. He...just couldn't ruin it. So he turned the other way and kept looking, but he could find no one.

Thankfully, Germany had brought back everyone's attention to the meeting, allowing for the real meeting to start. As everyone sat down, he noticed something rather strange. The usually very loud and full of life America, was no where to be found...

After a very long and very boring meeting, all the countries filed out from the meeting room and towards the cafeteria down the hall. Russia was the last to leave the room, the hallway had become eerily silent by now. Leaving Russia to his thoughts and loneliness. he couldn't help but just stare out the big window that overlooked the street below, and for a second he could have sworn he had seen something...

-America's POV-

America breathed in and out heavily, his heart pounding against his chest. "That was close, he almost spotted me. I cant give though, my precious Ivypoo needs me!" He yelled, a determined tone in his voice. Becoming distracted, he jumped at the sound of his walkie talkie crackling to life.

"Dad! I've been trying to call you for five minutes, are you ok? I heard someone talking." Alaska said with slight worry in his voice.

"Um... No.. Everything is fine..." He replied, trying not to give himself away.

Alaska rubbed his eyes, becoming slightly annoyed with his dad. "You were talking to yourself again, weren't you? " he asked. Before America could answer. Alaska cut him off with a annoyed, "It doesn't matter! Lets just get this done. I really want to squish momma's cheeks again. they are just so squishy and warm like peaches."

"I know right!? Anyways, I'll be your signal. It's all up to you now, make your daddy proud!" America yelled enthusiastically.

Hanging up, America began to wipe the tears from his eyes, mumbling, " I'm so proud of him..."

Alaska walked up the stairs, making sure not to be suspicious as he entered the building. After some minutes, he found the lunch room, where the countries were all sitting and socializing. "Humph. These guys are way stupider then I thought. " He mumbled to himself as he scanned the room. sitting alone in the corner of the room, was the target he was after. now he just had to get him to where dad could get the perfect shot...

-Russia's POV-

Russia picked at his food with no intention of eating it. though it helped to distract him from all the happiness, love, laughter, and other crappy things going on around him. with every blink, he was determined not to let the tears escape his eyes. He was the 'big and scary' Russia after all, and he wasn't allowed to show weakness around other people, even when he was alone he refused to show any. Lost in his own thoughts, he failed to notice the person slide into the seat next to his.
