Hi, everyone! Here's a short scene for you. I hope to work through all of the "Sue Thomas: F B Eye" episodes and write short stories (likely one-shot scenes) for each of them. Of course, it makes sense to start with episode number one, "Pilot", where everyone is exposed to the wonderful character of Sue, along with the other members of the team. I had lots of ideas for this episode, so I may write another scene for "Pilot" at some point. I want to thank Paxson Entertainment and the creators of "Sue Thomas: F B Eye" for these great characters-they don't belong to me. I also quote some of the lines from the episode-they were not written by me. And now, please enjoy "Special Project". When you're done, if you have a moment, please leave a review. Thanks!
Jack Hudson walked into the bull pen and sat down at his desk, content. Finally, the moving was done and his team had moved into their new office. He was able to get back to work.
At last.
He disliked the confusion of moving. It disrupted the normal routine too much. At least coming in early in the morning might give him a bit of extra time to catch up on his work. He turned on his computer and pulled out some files. He hoped that the team would be able to dig up some more facts on one of their current cases. They had to present their side in court in just a few days and they had very little evidence.
Just then he heard steps entering the room. It sounded like high heels.
Tara or Lucy.
He looked up, ready to see what they had on the case. Instead he was shocked to be looking up at the face of a stranger - a gorgeous blonde woman.
"I'm Sue Thomas, your new special project," she announced.
"Um... I'm Jack Hudson."
Special project? What in the world does she mean? Who has given me a special project?! Doesn't everyone know that I'm busy enough already?
The blonde continued talking. In a few short sentences she made it clear that she was not interested in a "token position" after working hard all her life. She did not want to be patronized and she wanted a transfer. From her tone and attitude it was clearly to be inferred that the faster she was transferred the better it would be for everyone.
She's feisty. And why's she ranting at me? Is this some prank? After all, I don't have anything to do with hiring or assigning jobs or anything.
He slowly rose.
What do I say? Wait a second... personnel.
"Good speech. A bit on the defensive side, but luckily you'll get a chance to re-work it before you use it again."
She is extremely confused. Yeah, I think I guessed right.
"You looking for personnel?"
I'm guessing "yes" will be the answer.
"Yeah, they just moved to the fifth floor and we moved here from the sixth."
She looks embarrassed.
She finally spoke. "You're an agent?" It was more like a statement than a question.
"Yeah."
Who are you? What was your name - Sue Thomas?
"Sorry to have bothered you." She turned and walked back out the door. He blinked and tried to figure out what had just happened. He saw her motion to something and for the first time noticed the dog that was with her - a golden retriever.
Jack sat back down but he did not return immediately to his files. The capable, fiery woman with the dog had captivated him too much.
Now, who are those two and why have I not seen them before? I wouldn't be able to forget her. What an angel-she's gorgeous. I just wish that I knew more about her. I envy whoever gets to have her as their special project.
