Chapter One – REDONE
She limped into town, ignoring the stares and the looks she got from the passers-by and the young children that had been previously running around paying and laughing – until they caught sight of her, that is. Her usually neatly-kept, honey colored hair hung distressed-looking from her ponytail that normally sat high on her head. Her automail arm – or what was left of it, anyway – was hanging shattered from its socket, the wires that attached the arm to her nervous system was the only thing that kept it hanging limp from her shoulder. Her face and fleshed body was marked with deeply carved gashes, adding to her discomfort in the hot sun of Xenotime.
Her golden eyes flashed with discomfort, aggravation and longing. She drew closer to her destination, her heart thumping in her chest. 'Almost there,' she thought to herself as she stumbled up to the door of the bookstore. She knew she would find him here; he almost lived here if he wasn't at the lab. She glanced around quickly and spotted what she was looking for: a head of blonde hair that topped a tall, fit body that was home to a beautiful pair of silvery blue eyes. She smiled, her heart thumping louder as she drew near. She reached the teen and slipped her hand into his, leaning against his sturdy frame gently.
The young man looked down, a pleased smile replacing the confused look. "Hey there… You look pretty bad." He spoke as he kissed the top of her head and then her lips. She opened her eyes again and raised an eyebrow jokingly. "Thanks, you look wonderful too," she spoke with the trademark Elric sarcasm. The young man merely chuckled and turned around to slip his other arm around the girl. "Seriously, are you ok?" he asked, his other hand rubbing small circle on her back.
She looked up at him. "Yeah, I suppose I'll live…" she said nonchalantly. Her eyes widened slightly when she felt him tighten his grip the slightest bit. "Don't say that… please…" he asked her, looking at her. "That's something I don't want to imagine not happening." She smiled an apologetic smile and kissed him softly. "Sorry," she muttered into his shoulder. "It's ok, you know?" he replied as the door opened.
Footsteps and the clanking of armor made her heart thump. "Oh yeah, guess who I met up with earlier?" she said excitedly. "My bro-" she was cut off as her older brother, Edward, screamed in outrage. "Russell!?Get your hands off of my younger sister, you pompous bastard!"
A/N: Yeah, I know it was short, but I felt like re-amping the story. Reviews and Adds are welcome!
Love, Ranye.
