Bonnie walked up to the boarding house and knocked timidly on the door. It swung open and there stood Damon, "Yes?"
She looked up at him with her big brown doe eyes and said, "Is Stefan here?" He looked at curiously and said, "No he went out with Elena for a night of relaxation."
The light in her eyes dimmed but she replied, "Oh. Do you ummm happen to know when they're getting back?" "I don't know. I didn't bother to ask."
She bit her lower lip and said, "Do you mind if I just wait here? I don't want to walk back in the dark." He frowned slightly but said, "Why are you scared?"
She looked up at him hurt, "You know I am. Please? Or can you at least drive me?" He sighed. "Well Little Red Bird I don't want to drive you anywhere so you can stay here until they're back and Stefan can drive you."
She grinned up at him and followed him inside. "Thank you for letting me stay." "It's nothing Little One." She followed him over to the couch and sat down.
He turned to her. Do you want to watch TV or a movie?" She thought for a few seconds and then said, "I don't know. How about you decide." She finished with a huge grin.
He smiled back slightly just because when she smiled like that he couldn't help it. He walked to the movie cupboard and sifted through the movies for a few seconds before deciding on Dog Soldiers.
Bonnie craned her neck trying to see what he had picked. "Damon you didn't pick a scary movie right?" He just chuckled. "No it's perfectly fine."
Bonnie's eyes narrowed. "What is it called?" "Dog Soldiers." Bonnie's eyes widened. "Are you kidding me Damon! That's the non scary movie you picked out? Change it."
He just injected the disc and went to sit right next to her despite the room on the couch. He took her chin in one hand, lifted it so he could look her in the eyes and said, "Bonnie I'm here and I'll protect you from anything."
She stared into his eyes and after what seemed like a minute but really only a few seconds she said, "I..." He lowered his head and kissed her lips softly cutting her off.
She sighed slightly and said, "Fine but only because you're here. You cannot blame me if I clutch or bury my head into your chest." He laughed and said, "I won't blame you for anything."
"Well I guess you can start it then Damon." He then pressed play. For the first part of it Bonnie just bit her lip and shrieked slightly but then on a really particularly gruesome part she dived into Damon's side burying her head to escape to scene.
Damon would chuckle when she did and she could feel the vibrations go through her. "Damon can I sit on your lap so it's quicker for me to hide my face?"
He was silent for a few seconds and then said, "Certainly Red Bird." He paused the movie and she got up letting him move to where she was sitting before placing herself on him.
When she had he wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her closer to his chest she leaned back slightly and let his warmth envelope her.
Nearly 3/4 through with the movie Bonnie had fallen asleep and Damon looked down at her smiling. He picked her up gently so he didn't wake her up and carried her to his room.
When he set her down she stirred and said, "Damon?" He sat down on the edge of the bed leaning over her, "Yes Little Red Bird?" "I just remembered that they had gone on their weekend getaway."
"Who?" "Stefan and Elena." "And your point is?" She smiled faintly and said, "Today is Saturday." With that she closed her eyes and drifted of to sleep.
