Seven Hundred and Thirty Days. Two years. Since the last time I saw him. He never came back. Jacob was still here…Which was good, but the hole in my heart is still empty from where he used to be. I don't think I will ever fully recover. But, things have changed.

I'm now frozen at eighteen forever.

This life, now seems pointless without Edward to share it with. Now, I am frozen like this for the rest of eternity. Alone.

Before Laurent bit me in the meadow, he obviously wasn't anticipating the large wolves that appeared then. But it was too late. The bite was too deep and the venom had sunk in. And Edward was not there to save me this time. The pain, was unthinkable. It almost matched the intense pain I felt when I thought of Edward…But, not quite.

Jacob continues to say I will get over it, but now that I'm like this I don't see him as much as I would like to. I don't see Charlie anymore either. I can't live with him anymore, now that I'm this way. He thinks I'm dead or ran away, I'm not really sure. I just disappeared. Dropped off the map. No cover story needed. I still keep an eye on him from time to time. And between Sue and Billy, he was doing fine. I knew he would be in good hands.

Now, believe it or not. I live in the Cullen's old house. Living in this house without them, seems…off. But I had no were else to go, no one else to learn from. Two things I've learned, I have an extraordinary amount of self control and I now understand what Edward meant about my scent. It's powerful.

I jumped down the stairs to the main floor, before the scent hit me. It was a scent I knew, familiar. But my memory wouldn't let me grasp who's it was. My eyes dart around the room rapidly, crouching for attack when the figure appeared around the corner of the kitchen. Before stopping dead in my tracks and straightening up.

"Dimitri…" I whispered, clearing my throat to not sound scared. The Volturi I learned from Edward, and have only had a small encounter with them once before when they found out about my shield. They've been trying to get me to join them since. "I've told you before, Dimitri. Please, give Aro my sincere apology but I will not be joining him."

He chuckled. "Oh, Bella. So naive. Don't be silly, you have no one else…" He glanced around the large empty house then. "Obviously. You have nothing to lose." I shook my head, I was not going to join them, ever. "Shame. Edward will be greatly disappointed, I'm sure." I froze and I was sure if I had been human now, my heart would have stopped. My hands clenched into tight fists and even as a vampire I could still feel the pain.

"Edward…?" I whispered. "He would never join you. I know better than to fall for your tricks."

"Are you sure about that, Isabella?" His grin was twisted with a sense of amusement.

No, I wasn't sure.
