A year after the war, Harry Potter lay in his bed at Hogwarts. He was completing his final year of school with Ginny (his girlfriend), Hermione (his girl-best-friend), Ron (his best mate and practically his brother), Neville, Luna, and everyone else. Some chose not to complete their magical education, like Dean and Seamus. Instead, they went and got Muggle education for Muggle careers.

Back to the scene at hand, Harry decided to see if they had put the Christmas tree up. They always put three up. One in the Gryffindor Common room (Harry assumes they put up Christmas trees in the other Houses Common rooms), one in the Library and one in the Great Hall. He went to see the one in the Great Hall.

When he got there, the Hall was empty with the exception of a few straggling first years. Harry looked around until he saw the very tall, very beautiful Christmas tree.

It was pure white with gold beads circling it. It had blue, silver, and green Christmas ornaments. At the top was a, literally, glowing star. It casts its glow on all four Houses tables. Harry smiled as he saw that they had added special Christmas ornaments this year. They were these little pictures of all the students in teachers in Hogwarts on these little green strings. Harry couldn't find his but he saw several amazed faces of the first years.

Chuckling, he stood in front of it as the last of the first years headed to their classes (seventh years had way more free time, despite that they had very important exams at the end of the year). Harry mulled over the last Christmas, which hadn't been that cheerful, seeing as they were burying their dead from the war.

Strong, soft, skinny arms wrapped around his waist. Someone laid their head on the Harrys' back. Harry saw a small strand of red hair.

"What are you doing?" Ginny murmured.

"Looking at the Christmas tree," Harry said to his girlfriend.

"I heard Hermione and Ron helped decorate it," Ginny giggled. "Hermione wacked Ron in the head with the star when they put it up. Ron has a little bump on his head and he was a little mad at Hermione for, as he put it, 'not knowing how to put up a star' and he ended up putting it up."

"Hm…Ron's mad at Hermione? Funny, I caught them snogging on my way here," Harry grinned.

"Yeah? That's Ron and Hermione for you," Ginny giggled some more.

Ginny made her way around Harry to stand in front of him. Harry looked into her eyes, waiting for her next move. She leaned in and when she was inches away from her boyfriends lips, she smiled.

"Merry Christmas," she mumbled before kissing Harry.
