Dancing on the rooftop, like nothing else had ever existed.
They swayed in the wind together, and Piper placed a hand on his chest, feeling the thump of his heart. It had been a long time since they had been together like this, and Piper savored every single moment.
She wished that they could live in this moment forever. That she would never have to see another monster, and that the rest of their lives were secure.
His lips turned upwards in a smile, and in the glint of the moonlight, Piper saw the scar on his lip. She ran her finger over it, and looked into his upturned eyes.
"Don't you wish that things could be different sometimes? Like we were normal humans?" Piper asked him. Jason's eyes sparkled.
"I do sometimes, but then I would have never met you, Pipes,"
It was moments like these which made Piper's heart melt. She looked up at the moon and took in the stars, glimmering like snow in the sunlight. Jason traced her gaze and looked up.
He led her to the edge of the roof and they sat down, legs hanging off the edge.
"Catch me if I fall," Piper murmured, still looking up at the sky. She pointed up to an array of stars.
"See, that's the Little Dipper. And there's the North Star," She pointed the constellation out to Jason. Jason inhaled deeply, glancing up at the sky.
"Wow, Pipes. I never knew you were such a nerd," He teased. Piper's cheeks tinged pink.
"I used to read a lot, you know," she answered, and felt his grip on her waist tighten. She leaned her head onto his shoulder, and took in the scent of his fresh t-shirt.
"I love this," Jason murmured absentmindedly, tracing circles into the palm of Piper's hand. Piper moved her head off of his shoulder, and stood up slowly.
"Piper…?" Jason questioned, standing up as well.
Piper giggled, and looked at Jason.
"Catch me," she said, and spread her arms. Piper jumped off the building in such a style that would have made any super hero jealous, feeling the wind and adrenaline coursing through her entire body.
A split second before she hit the ground, a figure swooped through the air like a vulture and caught her.
Jason, of course.
Piper laughed as he set her gently on the ground.
"I love you."
