A/N: Hello there~ So I really love this pairing. It isn't canon (the story I mean), but please enjoy! I own nothing but my own writing!

Noel and Yeul were sitting alone together, waiting for the sun to rise. It was a habit of hers, watching the sun rise and fall. Maybe because she wasn't sure which one would be her last? At least, that was what Noel thought. Normally she would do it on her own, but she had asked him to accompany her on the last four visits. Usually, she just sat silently, drinking in the moment. Even though he was energetic, and sometimes impatient, Noel sat with her for those precious moments. It wasn't until the last day they watched the sun rise that she finally spoke.

"Noel?"

"What is it Yeul?" the brunette asked quietly.

"… It's my birthday tomorrow," she whispered.

Noel just nodded, looking at the rising sun. He already had a surprise planned for her birthday. He didn't know why she dreaded a day that should have been so happy, but then he turned, looking at the blue-haired girl. There were tears lingering in her eyes, a weakness she never let show, threatening to fall. Grasping her hand, Noel tried to speak to her soothingly.

"It's alright Yeul, I'll protect you. No matter what, I promise I'll protect you," he murmured.

"I'm just….. I'm afraid. What if I forget you? What if you forget me?" Yeul said worriedly to her friend, burying her face in his chest. Noel held her carefully, as if she would slip away if he lost his grip; which, in all honesty, would happen regardless.

"I will never forget you," he promised, feeling his own eyes tear up. "I promise that I will never forget you. How could you even think that?"

Noel lifted her chin slowly, looking into her forest green eyes. Acting on impulse, he pressed his lips lightly against hers. The young seeress stared with wide eyes as he pulled away. For a moment, she stayed speechless.

"Something to remember us by," Noel said, looking away with cheeks tinted red.

Yeul sighed, giggling lightly as she caught Noel's eyes again. This time she leaned in, curious to capture that quick feeling of harmony she had experienced.

Noel's eyes fluttered open, the memory still burning in his mind. He'd had no idea that those first kisses would also be the last. If he had…. Maybe he would have spoken sooner. Maybe things could have been different. Maybe they could have-… No, no more maybes. He couldn't have changed anything. As he closed his eyes, he could hear her light laugh, see her smile, and remember that first, and last, kiss in front of the rising sun.
