A little oneshot I wrote from Fiona's mother's POV. It's set a couple of years into the future. Enjoy!

Colleen Glenanne was a proud woman.

She had married young to a good man, and she bore him seven beautiful children. Five boys and two sweet little girls. She loved being a mother and a wife, but now that all of her children were grown and out of the house, with the exception of her lost little Claire, she felt a little sad. Three of her boys now had families of their own, and her oldest daughter was somewhere in the States.

Colleen walked outside and down to the mailbox. It was a sunny day, and she relished the warm sun on her skin as she reached into the mailbox and retrieved several envelopes. One in particular caught her attention, and the rest fell from her hand as she rushed back inside.

"Aidan!" She hurried through the front door, shouting her husband's name. "Aidan, there's a letter from Fiona!" Almost four years ago, Fiona had told her mother that she was coming home. Sean had gone to the States to see her, and when he returned, he informed her that Fiona would not be able to return to her homeland. That had devastated her, but when Sean told her that Fiona was safe with Michael McBride, she had been relieved. She had met Michael years ago, after he saved Fiona's life several times, and she genuinely liked the dark haired, blue eyed man.

Aidan practically ran into the living room. "A letter from Fiona? Open it, woman."

Colleen thumped her husband's chest, then opened the envelope that included no return address. There was a letter, along with a picture of Fiona, Michael, and two darling little boys. She handed the picture to Aidan, then unfolded the letter and read it out loud.

"Dearest Mother and Father, I wanted to come to Ireland so you could meet your grandsons. But I know that Sean has already told you I can never return to Ireland. So I suppose pictures will have to do for now. Michael Aidan is almost three, and Liam Samuel is eight months old. I just told Michael today that I'm pregnant again, and he's thrilled. I hope it's a girl. Love, your daughter."

Colleen wiped the tears from her eyes and took the picture from her husband. Fiona looked truly happy and content, something she hadn't been since her sister's death.

Aidan wrapped his arm around his diminutive wife and kissed her head. "She's happy, love," he rumbled, kissing Colleen's thick hair.

She snuggled into her husband and looked at the picture.

I love you, my child. Be happy.

The End.

A/N: Aww... I'm thinking about adding a few more chapters, but I'm not sure yet. What do you guys think? Thanks for reading, and please review!
