Let's see... I have not completely disappeared (not that any of you seemed to be worrying too much...)
I just haven't had time lately. It's a little thing called SCHOOL. (Curse it!)
Inspiration strikes me during math class, though. And instead of paying attention I end up drawing little doodles on the side of my paper of whatever story I feel like writing. So today's oneshot was a NejiTen and I liked it. Actually, the idea struck me in Spanish, but during math (which happens to be right after Spanish) I finally figured it out.
I still love NejiHina, though, but only TenTen would be like this. Hinata's too shy.
Tenten peered over Neji's shoulder.
"Whatcha doing?" she asked, although it was clearly Spanish homework. They always brought homework for when they had to wait for Gai and Lee to finish their daily 100 laps around Konoha.
"Spanish homework, idiot. Shut up, I'm trying to think." He shoved her away with all the gentleness of an elephant- which, as his girlfriend, was all she knew him capable of.
She stuck her tongue out at him. "Stupid Neji, in Spanish 3 when I'm just in Spanish 2," she muttered at him.
"Not my fault I started it a year earlier than you. Now shut up."
"Fine!" She opened her own Spanish workbook
Translate each sentence to English.
1. Te deseo.
What the heck???
She dissected the sentence in her head. "Te" meant the verb was directed at whoever she was talking to, and "deseo" meant "I desire."
So... "I desire you"?
Huh?
That couldn't be right. What a weird sentence.
"Neji, what does 'te deseo' mean?" she asked.
"I desire you." He said in a sharp, uncaring tone, all but glaring at her. Tenten despaired, wanting to laugh at the expression on his face, but cry at his tone. Her boyfriend was a heartless shell of flesh that she really did love, and there probably wasn't anything she could do about it. She decided to try anyway. "So seductive!" she said, giggling. "Geez, Neji, can't you say that in a less... blank tone of voice?"
He raised one eyebrow, smirking. "You want seductive?"
He disappeared, and suddenly was behind her, tucking one long strand of ebony hair behind his ear. This was apparently so it wasn't in the way when he leaned down and kissed her neck. She suddenly realized she hadn't breathed since she saw the small smirk on his face.
"I desire you," he whispered breathily in her ear.
"Oh", thought Tenten as she fell into what looked to her like a pool of black. "So this is what it's like to be Hinata around Naruto."
I liked it...
Anyway, it came out almost exactly how I wanted it to.
The original title of this story was "Te Quiero", because that means "I want you", but I was corrected by I.heart.Hatake.Kakashi- the really seductive/ most-like-"I-want-you" phrase is "te deseo". In Spanish, "te quiero" is really more in between liking and loving.
Oh, and Tenten is thinking that last bit- FF just wouldn't let me italicize it.
