A/N: I was trying to work on That Great Love Sound...I swear. But I was feeling angsty and uh, this happened instead.
The ugly gun shot reverberated throughout the dark night as the bullet ripped through Ianto's chest and he fell backwards with a thump. The burning of the bullet and betrayal blended together but he wasn't sure which pain was worse. His lip quivered and his eyes started to water but he was able to stop the bitter tears in his last moments. Instead, blood poured out of his heart onto the cold asphalt.
Time seemed to slow as heavy steps thudded towards him. He could see his killer standing above him, gun still smoking and blue RAF coat still billowing. Jack let out a sob before falling to his knees next to the limp body.
"You won." Ianto was able to choke out before his vision blurred and his ability to breathe stopped altogether. He felt Jack's hands clutch his face and tears that weren't his wet his cheeks. The last thing Ianto noticed before the relief of darkness cradled him was the kiss Jack gently placed on his lips and a whispered good bye.
