Chapter 1: Introduction
Intro: This is my spin on the Adventure Time universe and it is kind of a mix between Adventure Time and Fallout (two of my favourite things)
Note: It is kind of short, but this was just a test to see how this whole thing works and I also don't own Adventure Time
Ok, ON WITH IT!
Twenty years after the atomic bombs fell on America, a baby boy named Finn was born in an old abandoned hospital. His father left when he heard about the pregnancy and then his mother died during childbirth. The doctor Finn's mother had asked to accompany her, felt sad for the boy and decided to take him home and raise him as his own son. He sneaked through the fallout to the farm where he, his wife and his two sons lived. When he arrived holding the infant boy, his wife Margaret immediately took Finn in her arms and started breastfeeding him, for she had recently had a baby of her own, Jake.
"What happened to his mother, Joshua?" asked Margaret.
"She... she died after giving birth to him. She told me to name him Finn, after her father" he replied sadly.
Just then a little boy, Jermaine, Joshua and Margaret's oldest son walked in holding a dirty toy car.
"What's that" he asked, pointing to Finn who was laying in his mothers arms.
"This is your new baby brother, Finn" she replied softly, tilting the baby downwards so that Jermaine could see him.
"Another one?" he asked with a happy tone in his voice.
Joshua and Margaret laughed and a while later Finn was fast asleep and Margaret decided to put him in the crib next to Jake. It was at that moment that Joshua heard something from outside. He looked out of the window and saw eerie-looking humanoid creatures with horribly disfigured features and a strange green substance leaking out of their mouths, eyes and ears. They were limping along the fence outside the farm, unaware of the eyes on the other side of the fence that were watching them.
"Hey honey, can you please bring me my notebook?" Joshua said in the direction of his wife.
Margaret went to the main bedroom upstairs and grabbed a thick brown leather book with the word "Enchiridion" in red letters on the front and went back downstairs. She handed it to her husband and he grabbed a pencil from his front shirt pocket and scribbled something in his book.
"I think I'll call them Ooze-Ghouls" Joshua said with a satisfied look on his face. He drew a picture of an ooze-ghoul and closed the book.
"How many is that now?" Margaret asked while she sat with Jermaine on her lap in an old lazy-boy chair in the living room.
"Just about four," Joshua replied, "There are the Ooze-Ghouls, that weird mass of gum at the old candy factory that had a face, those fish-people in that sewer and that strange mop-looking guy with the emeralds for eyes."
"Don't forget the humans, pa" said Jermaine from his mother's lap.
"I'm afraid we're the only humans left, son" said Joshua with a sad look on his face.
Little did he know that there were much more species than just four in the land of Boston, but will Joshua live long enough to see them all? Find out in the next chapter of Forgotten Lands!
