Rogue looked in the mirror after wrapping her towel around herself. She saw a beautiful, smart young lady who just got accepted at Harvard. Or at least that's what everyone else says they saw when they look at her. She doesn't believe them. She doesn't think much of herself. Everyone expects her, being a Goth, to hate people. Maybe she does hate a few people but most of all she hates herself. She shouldn't have run after she put Cody in a coma. She should have been stronger against Mesmero's mind control. She should have just freed Mystique to make Kurt happy. 'I am a horrible person.'
She waited for her voices to chime in and make her feel worst. 'Well?'
'What?' asked Logan's voice?
'Aren't you going to say something?' she asked them.
'Why? There's nothing we can add to that. It's the truth and it's more fun and less work to have you tear down yourself.' They replied evilly.
She looked in the mirror again. By now her hair was starting to dry since it was the middle of July. She still hadn't put on her make-up, her shield against the world.
She goes to her closet and looks at all her dark clothes. She thinks about her childhood in Mississippi. 'A.M. would have never dressed like this.' She sadly thought as she was reminded of her old friends. 'What would they say if they saw me now?'
Suddenly there was a knock at her door. She went to answer it and found no one was there just a vase with a flower and a note. "Don't listen to everyone else," the note said. "You're you. Don't let anyone change that."
Outside a young man stood with a smile.
