The Littlest Dragon
Just a little dribble, about a mother's love. Surprise! It's rated G.
"Momma," said Hakayuu. "When I'm big, I'm going to be fierce and have the hottest fire and loudest roar of any dragon ever!"
Mother Dragon smiled. "Some day little tokage*, but not today. Today you're my tiny boy and I love you this much. And she spread her wings wide.
"Wow Momma," Hakayuu said. "You love me lots."
Time went by....
"Mother," said Hakayuu. "I am going to get big aren't I.? I've got to grow. Sister is hummugus and she pushes me around. The big fat cho."
"Toke," His mother admonished. "That was mean. Your sister isn't fat, she has a glandular disorder." Mother Dragon sighed. "You're just a later bloomer, don't worry, you will get big." Then she smiled, "but in the mean time, you're still my tiny boy.."
"Mooooooother," protested Hakayuu. "I'm too old to be your tiny boy." But then, even in mid protest, he stopped. "How much do you...?"
And she spread her wings wide.
Time went by......
"Mother?" Begged Hakayuu, as he watched her eyes begin to close for the last time. "Please don't die."
"It's my time Toke," she said slowly. "The wheel of life turns and I must rejoin the cycle of death and life." Then, with her last breath, "look for me, my tiny boy," and with her last bit of strength, she flung her wings wide.
Time went by......
'"Kryu?" Hakayuu chirped as he settled on Haikki's shoulder after a long day of travel. The trip across the desert had been brutal and Sanzo's bullets had nicked his paint job. "Kryu?" he said again as red eyes met green.
"Yes I do." Replied Haikki. "This much," and he spread his arms wide.
