It was quiet.

Too quiet.

One thing Arthur Petrelli had learned over the last four years was that, in a house full of boys, quiet was never a good sign.

He found them in the dining room, all three of them. Nathan was at the table, papers spread everywhere, head bent over an open textbook. Gabe and Pete were across the room, upside down, tied to chairs with neckties, giggling to each other.

Arthur cleared his throat. Nathan looked up guiltily. Gabe and Pete stopped giggling.

"Dad," said Nathan. "It's not what it looks like."

Arthur's only response was a skeptical raised eyebrow.

"Okay, it is what it looks like. But I can explain."

"He's Spiderman!" exclaimed Gabe, surprisingly gleeful for someone who was upside down and tied to a chair. "And Pete's Green Goblin and I'm Doc Oc and Spiderman caught us and tied us up in his webs until the police can come get us!"

"The police are taking a long time," added Pete. "Are you the police, Daddy?"

"I suppose I am. And the police would like to talk to Spiderman for a minute in the other room. Now."

Nathan stood up and reluctantly followed his father into the den.

"Nathan, why did you tie your brothers to chairs upside down?"

"Being upside down was their idea."

"That is not a satisfactory answer, young man."

"I have a history test tomorrow! I have to study and they wouldn't leave me alone!"

"And you can't study in your room, because…?"

"My desk isn't big enough to spread everything out. I need a bigger desk."

"We'll see. Now, go untie your brothers before your mother finds them like that."
